Oct 20, 2010 Last night we got a call from Elder Martin Johnson in the Visitor Center saying their was a handsome young man there to visit us, named Aaron Stucki. We hurried over there and had a great visit for a couple of hours. He comes down here quite often with his job and took the time out to come to the Mansana to visit us. He even offered to bring some needed items from the States the next time he has a chance. That is a great offer.
As we were saying goodbye to Aaron and getting ready to leave the Visitor Center, we noticed Sister Hicken there. (She is the wife of Pres Robert Hicken of the Mexico City East Mission.) We were not so glad to hear what she had to tell us. She and her husband and one missionary were driving through a neighborhood just south of the temple and in broad daylight, a man approached their car and with a loaded gun pointed at them, ordered them out of the car. They obeyed, of course. The person and one other man drove off with their mission car. We haven’t heard if the police were helpful. Pres Hicken was at the police station for quite some time. Sister Hicken was quite shaken up. Her camera and a few other valuable plus some important missionary information was in the car. We have told a few Mexicans that story. They just shack their heads and matter or factly say, "Those things happen." If that happened in the States it would be in the headlines don't you think. Maybe we will see the Hickens on Sunday and they can tell us if there have been any more developments.
