Welcome

Our mission is a miracle. Miracle that we are here. The Lord wants us to succeed. He wants all of His children to be happy. He sent His Only Begotten Son to earth to cleanse us from our sins. No unclean thing can enter his presence. We are here to prove ourselves and to return to him. We have a responsibility to become like Jesus, to keep his commandments and to make and keep sacred covenants. It's not a very long list. We pray for each member of our family. We love each one.

Puebla - Talavera Pottery

It was a short distance from Cholula to Puebla. Puebla was founded in 1531. It is the 4th largest city in Mexico (Mexico City, Guadalajara & Monterey are bigger). It is a beautiful and clean city and was settled by Germans. There is an abundance of quality clay in the area. It is well known for its fine ceramics called Talavera, a tin-enameled earthen ware. . The Mexico City temple is decorated with many beautiful pieces from here. Here are some pictures we got at the Talavera factory of the pottery being made. I got three signature pieces.

Sculpting the clay. It take two months to make the clay ready for sculpting.

The stack on the left is the rack with pieces ready to go into the kiln. Not a good picture.

The kiln. Heats to a thousand degrees.

Painting.

The paint when run through the kiln is shiny. There is no coat over the paint.
