May 17th 2010 Mon – Exploring -Right after breakfast we are going to walk around the temple grounds. Then a little later Elder and Sister Wright (from Lethbridge Alberta Canada) are going to take us shopping. There is an open air market about a 10 min walk from here, then we take taxis to other places. They said you get one thing here and one thing there. You can't get everything in one place. If you see something you need to get but think you can come back later to get it it doesn't work because it won't be there the next time you try. It eases our mind to know we can get drinking water right here in the laundry area. We don't have to buy it. Several couples will be leaving in two months. I guess there is constant flux. Elder and Sister Beck are in Unit 5 (we are in Unit 1). We haven't even talked to them since getting here except briefly at church. Each unit has it's own key. We have a key to our unit and a key to our door. Family Home Evening under the direction of the temple counselor, Elder Jimenez, was for units 1 & 2 that is 19 apts.
Like we planned we walked around the temple grounds and low and behold along came some very important people. We shook hands with Elder and Sister Bednar and Elder and Sister McMullen.of the presiding bishopric plus others. Later we walked to the open market and bought watermelon, bananas, and other fresh stuff. We rested our legs for a few minutes and had lunch then we took a taxi to Walmart and got the rest of the stuff we needed. Believe it or not Dad survived it. He wants you all to know he is doing better each day. We haven’t heard bombs going off today. Maybe it’s mostly a weekend thing. Bombs are set off like firecrackers at home
