Welcome

Our mission is a miracle. Miracle that we are here. The Lord wants us to succeed. He wants all of His children to be happy. He sent His Only Begotten Son to earth to cleanse us from our sins. No unclean thing can enter his presence. We are here to prove ourselves and to return to him. We have a responsibility to become like Jesus, to keep his commandments and to make and keep sacred covenants. It's not a very long list. We pray for each member of our family. We love each one.

July 1, 2010 This week we have had the morning shift. It seems like 5 am comes really early for some reason. I finished learned all the ordinances in Spanish. It is such a relief off my mind. Now I am concentrating on being happy with my assignments. If I am strict about doing whatever I am asked I receive the spirit a lot stronger. We were in a couple of sessions today. We understand all most all of the words in the session. We enjoy going to them and picking up as many words as we can in Spanish. In that regard we have come a long way in hearing the language. Dad has concentrated on learning the ordinances this week and is making progress. Yesterday Elder Gomez, one of our neighbors, came over to our apartment to work with us in Spanish. Sis Gomez came later and they wrote down sentences that we can learn for better communication in the temple. . In the evenings we enjoy walking around the Mansana. It’s cool in the evenings and it is clean and safe on the Mansana (temple square).
Something for us to live by, “Always remember that the Lord has the power to do for us what we can’t do for ourselves. If we do our part and prayerfully seek him, he’ll be with us. I know. Happiness isn’t always doing what you want to do. Sometimes it’s doing what you don’t want to do and being glad you did.” It’s our duty to be happy. (from Jesse Evans Smith)

July 3, 2010 Both groups (A & B) of missionaries are the temple workers on Sat afternoon. Sis Mejia asked me to say the prayer in our devotional. I was so choked up I could hardly speak. Embarrassing! I feel it a rare privelege being there. It is something that I think about daily. We are so happy. There is no place I would rather be.
July 5, 2010 Trip to Desierto de Leones – It’s a very nice picnic grounds in the mountains near a Monestary. A whole bus load went. The food was great. The weather cool – we wore light jackets. It didn’t rain until we were loading onto the bus (another tender mercy of the Lord?). We met the Allreds. Elder Clyde Allred who is executive secretary to the area presidency is my 3rd cousin I discovered.
