We had two fun shopping days. One was at the Ciuadedela, Here they have a very good selection of arts and crafts, and clothes from all over Mexico. The other day was at the Saturday Bazaar in San Angel. Hundreds of artists bring their drawings, paintings and photographs all framed and ready for hanging. There are many arts and crafts there as well. We heard many foreign languages spoken there including Japanese, French, German, Italian, and, of course, English. It is popular with tourists. After a courtyard luncheon we headed home and were given a bus (van) tour around the University of Mexico. The university enrolls 250,000 students. It is a remarkable place. It is in the top 17 universities in the western hemisphere.

Cuidadela - This market, a 10- to 15-minute walk from the Alameda, bursts with the capital's widest range of wares and best bargains daily from about 10 to 5. We're talking about Talavera pottery, leather belts, guitars, tile-framed mirrors, hammocks, silverware, papier-mâché skeletons, rugs, trays from Olinalá, sombreros.... Prices are better than at most crafts markets (though you can still haggle), and so is the scene.
We had lunch at a court yard buffet. These performers entertained us.
The University. Judy Palarski attended school here thirty-eight years ago.
